This privacy policy tells you what to expect when I collect personal information on this site.

**TL;DR: I collect as little information about visitors as possible unless they share it with me.** I use a privacy-preserving analytics tool, [Umami](https://umami.is/), to collect anonymous stats like how many people access pages, and which pages they access, but I don't really know much about you at all. I capture details like which pages people access, and which pages result in errors, so that i can troubleshoot the site. Cloudflare may also collect some analytics.

## What personal information do I collect from the people that visit our blog, website or app?

I collect as little information as possible. There are no comments or sign-ups on this site. I have no way to link anything back to you - although your IP is logged temporarily, personally i cant do anything useful with that.

- I run my own copy of Umami (https://umami.is/) for visitor statistics. It records which pages are viewed, the referring site, browser, device type, screen size and approximate location. To count visitors it hashes your IP address and browser details with a value that changes monthly. The IP address itself is not stored.
- Cloudflare, which hosts this site, also collects [cookieless, aggregated statistics](https://www.cloudflare.com/web-analytics/) about page views, referrers, countries, browsers and devices. [Cloudflare's documentation](https://developers.cloudflare.com/web-analytics/data-metrics/dimensions/) lists exactly what is measured.
- I keep technical logs of requests for debugging and security. They include the page requested, including any search terms, your IP address, browser and approximate location. Cloudflare deletes them automatically after seven days. I also keep an aggregated list of broken links and redirects, with no personal data, for as long as the site runs.

[Cloudflare's privacy policy](https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/) describes how Cloudflare handles data generally.

## How do I use your information?

I don't really. The information is used to look at what pages are popular, and where there are errors (such as people going to pages which aren't there). But I'm not selling anything here.

## How do I protect your information?

The site is served over HTTPS by Cloudflare and stores no accounts or personal data.

## Do I use cookies on this site?

No. Both Umami and Cloudflare are cookieless, and any site preferences (such as light/dark mode) use "browser local storage".

## Third-party disclosure

Cloudflare hosts the site and processes request data on my behalf. I do not sell your data to anyone. I don't run ads and I don't sell anything here.

## Third-party links

Occasionally, I may include or offer links to third-party products or services on this website. I may receive commission if you click on them but i will always include a "clean" link without an affiliate tracking code too. These third-party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. I have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, I seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.
